How Mercari fees work

Mercari charges sellers a flat 10% selling fee on the item sale price, plus a payment processing fee of 2.9% + $0.50 per order. On a $50 item that works out to $5.00 (10%) plus $1.95 processing, or $6.95 in total fees.

  • Selling fee: a flat 10% of the item sale price.
  • Payment processing: 2.9% + $0.50 per completed order.
  • Shipping: paid by whoever you assign it to. If you cover it, it comes out of your take-home.
  • No listing fees: listing items on Mercari is free.

  • Mercari reinstated a 10% seller fee in January 2025 after a brief no-fee period.
  • Direct (off-platform) deals are not covered by Mercari protections.

Price every Mercari flip for profit

Knowing the fees is only half the math. To actually profit, price from real sold comps, subtract these fees and your shipping, and hold a minimum margin. Our profit margin guide walks through it, and the what-is-it-worth guide shows how to find an item’s real value before you buy. Cluzy does both in one scan: it pulls live sold prices and nets out fees so you know your profit on Mercari in seconds.

Mercari fees FAQ

How much does Mercari take from a sale?

Mercari takes a 10% selling fee plus a 2.9% + $0.50 payment processing fee. On a $50 sale that is about $6.95 in fees, leaving roughly $43.05 before your item cost and shipping.

Does Mercari still have no seller fees?

No. Mercari briefly removed seller fees and moved them to buyers, but as of January 2025 sellers again pay a flat 10% selling fee plus 2.9% + $0.50 payment processing.

Who pays for shipping on Mercari?

You choose at listing. You can pass shipping to the buyer or offer free shipping and absorb the label cost, which lowers your net profit. Add your label cost to the shipping field above to see the real number.
