How eBay fees work
eBay charges a final value fee of about 13.6% in most categories, plus a fixed per-order fee of $0.30 on orders of $10 or less and $0.40 on orders over $10. The final value fee already includes payment processing, so there is no separate card fee. The exact percentage ranges from 2.5% to 15.3% depending on the category.
- Final value fee: about 13.6% of the total sale (item price plus shipping and tax) in most categories.
- Per-order fee: $0.30 for orders of $10 or less, $0.40 for orders above $10.
- Payment processing: bundled into the final value fee, so there is no extra card-processing charge.
- Optional extras: a 1.65% international fee on overseas sales, plus listing-upgrade and Promoted Listings fees if you use them.

Price every eBay flip for profit
Knowing the fees is only half the math. To actually profit, price from real sold comps, subtract these fees and your shipping, and hold a minimum margin. Our profit margin guide walks through it, and the what-is-it-worth guide shows how to find an item’s real value before you buy. Cluzy does both in one scan: it pulls live sold prices and nets out fees so you know your profit on eBay in seconds.
eBay fees FAQ
How much does eBay take per sale?
For most categories, eBay takes about 13.6% of the total sale plus a per-order fee of $0.30 (orders $10 or less) or $0.40 (orders over $10). On a $50 sale that is roughly $7.20 in fees, leaving you about $42.80 before your item cost and shipping.
Does eBay charge a separate payment processing fee?
No. As of the managed-payments system, payment processing is bundled into the final value fee, so the ~13.6% already covers card processing. You will not see a separate processing line.
How can I lower my eBay fees?
Open an eBay Store subscription for lower category rates, keep your seller rating above Below Standard to avoid the extra 5%, and skip optional listing upgrades and Promoted Listings unless they clearly pay for themselves.
